2011 BMW 1-Series Coupe & Convertible facelift revealed


BMW has unveiled a minor facelift for the 1-Series Coupe and Convertible.
Mimicking the 1-Series M Coupe, the updated models receive a new front bumper, redesigned wheels, and LED-infused lighting units. Inside, there's additional standard equipment, new upholstery, and revised trim.

BMW X3 M Sport Package more details and photos



First announced back in July, BMW has released further details and photos of the M Sports Package for the 2011 X3.
Designed to maximize driving pleasure, the package features a body-color aerodynamic styling kit, high-gloss shadow line trim, and unique 18-inch alloy wheels (19- and 20-inchers are optional). If that isn't special enough, customers can order Carbon Black metallic paint which is exclusive to the M Package.

BMW Vision EfficientDynamics gets a tentative price tag of £150,000



Price makes the model competitive with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SLS E-Cell, which will be one of its main rivals.

BMW has put an unofficial price tag on the upcoming Vision EfficientDynamics of no more than £150,000 (€176,624 / $235,000), according to Inside Line.

2012 BMW 1-Series spied with less camouflage



Our intrepid spy photographers have managed to catch several new pictures of the 2012 BMW 1-Series.
Undergoing testing in Europe, this five-door prototype is thinly camouflaged which gives us a better glimpse of the prominent grille, sportier bumpers, and production taillights. Overall, you can see the car will be slightly longer and feature a slimmer C-pillar which should help to improve rearward visibility.

Details emerge on upcoming front-drive BMW 1-Series variants

1-Series will feature a new FWD 5-door hatch with a new design to take on the likes of the VW Golf and the Audi A3.
More details have emerged in an Autocar report on the upcoming front-wheel drive BMW 1-Series variants.
First off, it seems that BMW will be offering several variants based on the 1-Series starting in 2013, some of which will be FWD.

Here are some spy shots of the 2011 BMW 1-Series Coupe Active-E, an all-electric variant of the 1-Series.
BMW introduced the model as the ActiveE concept at the Detroit auto show last January and this set of shots is the latest hint that Bavarian brand will be taking the model to production, however limited as a test run, as it has the MINI E. The model is slated to be introduced next year.

Following an unrelenting teaser campaign, BMW has officially unveiled the 1-Series M Coupe.
Designed to be the spiritual successor to the original M3, the 1-Series M Coupe "embodies the unmistakable M feeling in a highly concentrated form." It features aggressive bumper fascias, bi-xenon headlights (with LED "eyebrows"), flared wheel arches, and 19-inch light-weight alloy wheels. Only three exterior colors will be available and they include Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic and Valencia Orange Metallic.

BMW leads sales race against Audi, Mercedes-Benz

BMW Group's global sales for November were 129,014 units - a 20 percent rise over the same month last year. The competition for sales between the big three German premium brands is heating up but BMW still remains ahead of rivals Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

BMW has just released this final peek-a-boo of the hotly anticipated 1-Series M Coupe following an almost endless series of teasers.
It was only yesterday we swiftly reported the muted unveiling at the Autosport Awards ceremony in London with Dr. Kay Segler and WTCC driver Andy Priaulx and now BMW has released this video showing the full body but only for a moment (use the pause button).

BMW 1-Series M Coupe GTS/CSL for 2012?

Car designer Jon Sibal may have a scoop on the upcoming E82 1M Coupe - that we may see multiple iterations of that model.
In talking to his BMW sources, Sibal discovered that BMW are looking at special edition options for the upcoming 1M Coupe that could see a limited series variant taking inspiration from such BMW classics as the E36 LTW, E46 CSL and the more recent E92 GTS.

German tuner fits a body kit, its own set of wheels and a new exhaust system to the 7-Series


Japanese tuner Wald International has a very unique tuning package for the F01/F02 BMW 7-Series for the first time adapting its Black Bison styling kit for a BMW vehicle.
The 7-Series Sports Line Black Bison Edition includes a body kit consisting of a new front bumper with LED daytime running lights, side skirts which can be had either short or long, a new rear bumper with LED brake lights and roof and trunk spoilers.

AC Schnitzer has unveiled their new tuning program for the BMW 5-Series Touring (F11).
Looking tastefully restrained, the wagon is outfitted with a front spoiler, aerodynamic side skirts, a carbon fiber rear insert, and a roof-mounted spoiler. Other goodies include a chrome grille and a variety of AC Schnitzer wheels which range in sizes from 18- to 21-inches.


Theissen retires as BMW's racing boss



BMW's long-time motor racing and formula one boss Dr Mario Theissen is retiring.
The 58-year-old has held the post as BMW motorsport director for 12 years, preceding the German carmaker's decision to enter F1 initially as an engine supplier to Williams in 2000.

BMW workers in Munich caught stealing parts


Ring of thieves stole over €3 million in car parts from BMW production before they were caught.

Police in Munich have put a stop to a ring of thieves that included BMW employees who were stealing car parts from the factory and selling them on the black market.
Authorities say that the gang stole over €3 million in BMW car parts before they were caught. BMW officials were the first to begin investigating the matter before handing it over to the local police.

BMW TAPPED U.S. FED FOR $3.6B DURING CREDIT CRUNCH

Domestic automakers weren’t the only ones to have benefited from the United States Federal Reserve over the last two years. According to new data released to the media yesterday, BMW made “intermittent” use of the Federal Reserve’s Commercial Paper Funding Facility in 2008 and 2009.
BMW used $3.62 billion on January 30, 2009, in part to expand its South Carolina assembly plant, as well as to support sales of new cars in the automaker’s second largest market. BMW invested $750 million into the assembly plant in order to assemble its X3 compact SUV, which just began production.
