Fresh details about the 2014 BMW M3

 

The next generation BMW M3 is expected to make its public debut next year in March at the Geneva Motor Show. It will be the first M3 to get a turbocharged straight-six engine that will be available exclusively with a dual clutch gearbox. This engine is tipped to be a heavily modified version of the N55 that motivates the M135i and the 640i.

The next generation of the BMW M3 is scheduled to debut next year at the Geneva Motor Show but until then you can feast your eyes once again on this custom M3 tuned by G-Power. It’s not your ordinary tuning program because the engineers managed to increase the original 4.0 displacement of the V8 engine to 4.6 liters by installing a new crankshaft and pistons from Mahle.

BMW designer says Apple made white cars popular

A recent study confirms that black’s reign as the most popular color for new cars in the United States has been overthrown by white.
In 2011, about 20 percent of new cars purchased in the U.S. were ordered in white, a color that has long been billed as complicated to keep clean. Some industry insiders believe that the color’s recent comeback is the direct result of Apple promoting white iPods, iPads and iMac computers.

BMW M5 police car unveiled in Munich

 
BMW has unveiled an M5 police car at the Welt Museum in Munich, Germany.

Dressed in traditional livery, the model has a black grille and a light bar. Thankfully, for German speeders, the car is just a concept so there's no need to worry... just yet.

BMW i8 Concept Spyder en route to LA Auto Show

 
According to BMWblog, the BMW i8 Concept Spyder will be making an appearance at this year’s L.A. Auto Show which will take place this November. Rumored to reach production phase in 2015, the Concept Spyder is the convertible version of the Coupe and features a shortened wheelbase.

Yet another BMW M3 Coupe has been destroyed, this time by a teenager who probably played a lot of Gran Turismo 5 and thought he was the king of the streets. He was most likely driving a BMW M3 Coupe (E46) on a rather narrow dusty road in Arizona when he failed to turn at a blind corner, heading straight into the rocks and crashing violently.

Entry-level BMW X3 sDrive18d announced

BMW has launched a new entry-level variant of the X3 that in Germany costs from 36,200 euros. It’s the X3 sDrive18d that comes with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter diesel engine with BMW’s TwinPowerTurbo technology that pumps out 143 hp (105 kW / 145 PS) and a peak torque of 266 lb-ft (360 Nm) available between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm.
