BMW North America has announced the optional Competition Package available for the 2014 M5 is an extra $7,300.
The Competition Package lifts output of the 4.4-liter V8 from 560 HP (412 kW) to 575 HP (423 kW). Additionally, the M5 receives further tuned stabilizer bars, dampers and suspension, along with a 10mm decreased ride height. Other goodies include bespoke 20-inch M alloys available in 601M and 343M styles which are both wrapped around in performance tires
.
Also part of the package is the sport exhaust system with black chrome tailpipes, as well as a tweaked M Dynamic mode part of the DSC – Dynamic Stability Control
system. At an additional cost, clients can opt for adaptive LED headlights and a touch controller which has a touch-sensitive surface.
Without the Competition Package, the 2014 BMW M5 has a starting price of 90,900 USD.
