2011 BMW 1-Series Coupe & Convertible facelift revealed
BMW has unveiled a minor facelift for the 1-Series Coupe and Convertible.
Mimicking the 1-Series M Coupe, the updated models receive a new front bumper, redesigned wheels, and LED-infused lighting units. Inside, there's additional standard equipment, new upholstery, and revised trim.
BMW X3 M Sport Package more details and photos
First announced back in July, BMW has released further details and photos of the M Sports Package for the 2011 X3.
Designed to maximize driving pleasure, the package features a body-color aerodynamic styling kit, high-gloss shadow line trim, and unique 18-inch alloy wheels (19- and 20-inchers are optional). If that isn't special enough, customers can order Carbon Black metallic paint which is exclusive to the M Package.

BMW has put an unofficial price tag on the upcoming Vision EfficientDynamics of no more than £150,000 (€176,624 / $235,000), according to Inside Line.
2012 BMW 1-Series spied with less camouflage
Our intrepid spy photographers have managed to catch several new pictures of the 2012 BMW 1-Series.
Undergoing testing in Europe, this five-door prototype is thinly camouflaged which gives us a better glimpse of the prominent grille, sportier bumpers, and production taillights. Overall, you can see the car will be slightly longer and feature a slimmer C-pillar which should help to improve rearward visibility.

2011 BMW 1-Series Coupe Active-E spied with details
Here are some spy shots of the 2011 BMW 1-Series Coupe Active-E, an all-electric variant of the 1-Series.
BMW introduced the model as the ActiveE concept at the Detroit auto show last January and this set of shots is the latest hint that Bavarian brand will be taking the model to production, however limited as a test run, as it has the MINI E. The model is slated to be introduced next year.

Car designer Jon Sibal may have a scoop on the upcoming E82 1M Coupe - that we may see multiple iterations of that model.

German tuner fits a body kit, its own set of wheels and a new exhaust system to the 7-Series
Japanese tuner Wald International has a very unique tuning package for the F01/F02 BMW 7-Series for the first time adapting its Black Bison styling kit for a BMW vehicle.
The 7-Series Sports Line Black Bison Edition includes a body kit consisting of a new front bumper with LED daytime running lights, side skirts which can be had either short or long, a new rear bumper with LED brake lights and roof and trunk spoilers.

Police in Munich have put a stop to a ring of thieves that included BMW employees who were stealing car parts from the factory and selling them on the black market.
Authorities say that the gang stole over €3 million in BMW car parts before they were caught. BMW officials were the first to begin investigating the matter before handing it over to the local police.
BMW TAPPED U.S. FED FOR $3.6B DURING CREDIT CRUNCH
Domestic automakers weren’t the only ones to have benefited from the United States Federal Reserve over the last two years. According to new data released to the media yesterday, BMW made “intermittent” use of the Federal Reserve’s Commercial Paper Funding Facility in 2008 and 2009.
BMW used $3.62 billion on January 30, 2009, in part to expand its South Carolina assembly plant, as well as to support sales of new cars in the automaker’s second largest market. BMW invested $750 million into the assembly plant in order to assemble its X3 compact SUV, which just began production.

There is little doubt that the next-generationBMW M3 will be stepping down from a V8 to s six-cylinder engine, and a recent image leak may have just given us a sneak peak and the next-gen motor.
An eagle eyed member of the 1Addicts forum managed to snag a screen shot that appears to reveal the next-generation M3 engine. Listed under the N54B3OTO engine code for the U.S. market, the engine is claimed to generate 451 horsepower.

The original Shift launched in September 2009 and quickly became a critical and commercial success. We awarded the game five stars and made it an Editors' Choice, and the racing sim went on to sell more than 4 million copies worldwide. EA promises Shift 2 Unleashed will continue to deliver on the first game's vaunted "true driver's experience."

BMW’s 3-Series has made its way into the hearts of all Beamer lovers, but this next version is sure to please just about anyone who craves a luxuryvehicle with insurmountable excellence. And if you don’t believe us, check out this rendering provided by designer, Andrei Avarvarii.
The 2012 BMW 3-Series Coupe is said to be longer than the current version by around an inch and a half, but it will have considerably shorter overhangs. Its design elements will be borrowed from brethren such as the next-generation X3, the new 5-Series, and the new 7-Series.
BMW 535i tuned by Kelleners
First off is a power upgrade for the current (2011) 535i. The technicians over at Kelleners are able to dial output on the 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder twin-turbo to 367 PS (270 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque - up from the series' 306 PS (225 kW) and 400 Nm.
BMW M3 E92 Widebody by Prior Design
German tuner Prior Design has a wide body kit for the BMW M3 E92 that it claims comes close to reproducing the look of the M3 GT2.
The entire Duraflex-composed (lightweight and flexible material) body kit consists of side wings at the front and rear wheel arches, a new front bumper with large air intakes, a new bonnet with air vents, side skirts, a new rear bumper and rear diffuser. Available is also a rear roof spoiler and boot lid spoiler too.
2011 BMW 6-series Cabrio revealed
Intended as a surprise unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show, BMW has revealed the 2011 6-Series convertible. However, for reasons unknown the drop-top never made it to the show. It's unfortunate given the importance of the sunny Californian market.
Drawing inspiration from the Concept 6-Series Coupe, the convertible has a long bonnet, a forward-slanted grille, xenon headlights, distinctive LED fog lights and 18-inch alloy wheels (19-inchers on the 650i). To reduce weight, BMW has retained the 6-Series' double buttress soft top which can be lowered in 19 seconds and raised in 24 seconds at speeds up to 25 mph (40 km/h).

Now, this prototype is a little different from the last one we saw, which was fitted with an old, hodge-podge looking interior (Also the rear diffuser looks different). These two shots of the dashboard published here may just feature parts of the new interior of the next 3-Series.

2012 BMW 6-Series Cabrio caught topless
While there isn't much to report, the car looks virtually identical to the Concept 6-Series Coupe which recently debuted at the Paris Motor Show. The only notable differences, aside from the convertible roof, are production-style mirrors and a traditional daul exhaust system.
Under the hood, engine options will likely carryover from the 5-Series. This means we can expect a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline 6 cylinder with 225kW (302 hp/ 306 PS) and a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 300 kW (402 hp / 408 PS). For the M6, power will be provided by an optimized twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 408 kW (555 hp / 563 PS) to 425 kW (570 hp / 578 PS).
The 6-Series coupe will be unveiled early next year, with the convertible following a few months later.
Mission Impossible 4 to feature next BMW 6-Series

According to reliable BMW blog source Scott27, the next-generation BMW 6-Series will be featured in the upcoming fourth installment of the Mission Impossible film series - Mission Impossible 4: The Ghost Protocol.
MW Vision EfficientDynamics road going prototype revealed
BMW has released photos and more info on the development of the Vision EfficientDynamics concept which the brand is now saying it will take to production. The latest iteration of the Vision EfficientDynamics will also be put on display at the Leipzig trade fair taking place this month.
The Vision EfficientDynamics is a 2+2 sport coupe which runs on BMW's ActiveHybrid technology. The low slung car, at just 1.24 m tall, is designed for maximum aerodynamic flow and has a drag coefficient of just 0.22. It's a 2-door but BMW promises easy access to the rear passenger seats.
Queen of the Ring - Ring Taxi driver Sabine Schmitz in M5 on the Nordschleife
The lady makes her living driving a taxi - specifically, the Ring Taxi on the Nordschleife track at the famous Nürburgring in Germany.
This is Sabine Schmitz, Queen of the Ring, a former professional race driver, who now works as a TV personality and driver of the Ring Taxi at the Nurburgring circuit. She seems to enjoy her job.
Next BMW 3-Series to feature lots of new tech
BMW is developing a host of new technologies, many of which will be first introduced in the next 3-Series, according to two Autocar reports.
One of the main features of the next 3-Series will be an intelligent drive system which BMW calls "Connected Drive meets Efficient Dynamics". It will enable the car to collect data from the outside, traffic, road conditions, etc., and merge it with on-board information from the car to calculate the most efficiency way to run and drive the vehicle.
BMW to supply more police cars in the U.K.
Good news for BMW and British constables, bad news for police budgets and incorrigible speeders. BMW has announced a contract with the U.K.'s National Policing Improvement Agency to supply police cars to all 52 of the country's police forces.
The models being supplied will include the new 5-Series (F10 530d saloon/sedan), which will be a first for many police fleets, as well as the X1, the X3 xDrive20d and the X5 xDrive30d and xDrive40d SUVs. All car announced as part of the new set of police vehicles will be diesel-powered.
BMW working on a 2-Series - 1-Series to go FWD
Something is definitely afoot in BMW's development schemes. According to American auto magazine Car and Driver, BMW is developing three new models, including a new 2-Series.
The new models include a minicar based on the BMW Megacity concept, an Audi A1-competing FWD BMW slated below the 1-Series and a new 2-Series.
BMW X1 M Package spied
Spy photographers have snagged the first pictures of the M Package for the BMW X1.
While camouflage hides most of the details, it's clear the M Package adds a revised front fascia, modified side sills, and a redesigned rear bumper. Other goodies include unique wheels, Shadow Line trim, and a monotone paint job.
Inside, the cabin will likely feature a sport steering wheel, sports seats, an M gear knob, and an anthracite headliner.
No word on pricing, but look for a launch early next year.
Audi, BMW and Mercedes dominate premium sector in China
China is now the world's largest auto market and it continues to grow even bigger. This year total passenger vehicle sales in China will be around 17 million units. For 2011, that number is expected to be 19 million and it is Audi, BWM and Mercedes-Benz who dominate the country's luxury car sector.
The three German premium brands currently hold 76 percent of the luxury car market in China. And according to Yang Jian, managing editor of Automotive News China, those automakers combined will only grow their market share in the future.
BMW CEO: ELECTRIC VEHICLES WON'T BE PROFITABLE AT LAUNCH
Tying into the speech given by National Automobile Dealer Association chairman Ed Tonkin yesterday concerning the potentially premature push for ultra efficient vehicles, BMW's CEO Norbert Reithofer shared some interesting facts about the expectations from the brands upcoming electric vehicles.
During Reithofer's speech to the Institute for the Automotive Industry, given in Nuertingen, Germany, via Auto News Europe, the CEO said, "It may be that you don't earn any money with such technologies during the first product cycle. Here, conventional drive has to cross-subsidize the new technology."

In an interview with German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport, Dr. Klaus Draeger, member of the board of management in charge of development at BMW AG, said it is a possibility.
BMW X4 due in 2014 - X4 M in the works too
More details have surfaced on the production of the BMW X4.
According to a report by AutoWeek, BMW will produce the X4 at its Spartanburg, South Carolina plant in the United States and be priced in the same range as premium wagons in that market. BMW believes the success of the X6 has proven that consumers will buy a car that is more stylish than practical. The U.S.-market will be an important one for the X4. BMW will be expanding its production capacity at the Spartanburg plant from 150,000 units to 240,000 units per year to accomodate the manufacturing of the X4. The model is scheduled for launch in 2014.
BMW set to announce 2012 DTM plans
The German carmaker, having pulled out of formula one at the end of last year, admitted recently it has started work on a DTM car to coincide with new regulations.
Bild-Zeitung newspaper says an official announcement about BMW's decision will be made on Friday.
