When BMW revealed the M5 Concept earlier this month, they gave the vehicle blacked-out tinted window as it remained unfinished. However, that didn't stop an inquiring photographer at the Auto Shanghai show from getting these shots.

BMW confirms four-cylinder Z4 & ActiveE pricing for US
Available this fall
On the eve of the New York Auto Show, BMW has released a flurry of eco-minded announcements.
First up, the company has confirmed the ActiveE will be available this fall - in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, New York, Boston and the state of Connecticut - with a two-year lease priced at $499 per month and a down payment of $2,250. As we have previously reported, the car is based on the 1-Series Coupe and has a 32 kWh lithium-ion battery which sends power to an electric motor that develops 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in "under nine seconds," hit a limited top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h), and travel approximately 100 miles (160 km) on a single charge.
2012 BMW M6 Coupe and Cabrio spied
Upcoming M6 Coupe and Cabriolet models spied out spring testing together
Here is the latest set of spy shots of both the 2012 M6 Coupe and Cabrio models caught while doing some spring testing.
This time we catch the M6 Coupe less disguised and we can make out more of the shape of those new front and rear bumpers and side skirts.
The Cabrio is in the same disguise as when we last saw it but these new shots still reveal more about the two upcoming variants. The F12 BMW M6 will likely feature the same power plant expected in the upcoming M5 - that would be the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 with an output of around 600 PS (592 bhp / 441 kW) coupled to the 7-speed DCT Drivelogic double clutch gearbox.
BMW says new 3-cylinder engine might not make it to next 3-Series
The new 1.5 liter 3-cylinder power plant will feature Twin Power turbocharging and be good for an output of around 110 kW / 150 PS
A recent BMW CGI presentation revealed how the brand's upcoming 3-cylinder engine is basically devised from splitting an inline 6-pot in two, which you can see in the CGI animation video posted above.
That upcoming engine will feature Twin Power turbocharging technology which should make the 1.5 liter unit good for around 110 kW / 150 PS - a proper fit for an entry-level variant of the upcoming 2012 3-Series.
2013 BMW 3-Series GT (GranTurismo) spied for the first time
BMW's next niche vehicle will be a smaller Gran Turismo based on the next-generation 3-Series
BMW has a pretty successful record over the last decade or so of introducing additional models that create new niches in the market but that end up selling more than at niche volumes.
Now, here is the next biggie vehicle - the 2013 3-Series Gran Turismo (GT), based on the next-generation 3-Series - spied for the first time.
The 2013 3-Series Gran Turismo is looking very much like a baby 5-Series GT, which is exactly what it is meant to be.The prototype spied here has a much higher front end, ride height and seating position than the current batch of next-generation 3-Series prototypes we've seen and quite possibly a longer wheelbase (just as the 5-Series GT sports a longer one than on the standard 5er).
Engines expected will be an array of diesels and petrols, some completely new, that will go into the next 3-Series. A good fit will also be the new 2.0 liter turbo with an output of 245 PS/180 kW (242 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque recently introduced in the X1 xDrive28i.
The 2013 3-Series GT is expected to launch about a year after the introduction of the next-generation 3-Series due as a 2012 model. PHOTOS

BMW REVEALS ALL-NEW 2012 6-SERIES COUPE!
The third generation of BMW’s somewhat controversial 6-Series Coupe is finally here as the German automaker has taken wraps off of the all-new 2012 650i Coupe – and we now have live images of this svelte two-door.
BMW’s previous and more recent attempts at the 6-Series models drew a fair amount of criticism, with many flat out calling the vehicles ugly. But the new 6-Series is truly new, with more purposeful, bold lines that convey a more tangible sense of sport and finesse simultaneously.
At the same time, while the changes to the sheet metal are in a sense quite simplistic, and unarguably not far from those found on the latest 3-Series Coupe, the changes appear to be what this coupe needed to convey the sporty characteristics that have been hiding beneath the sheet metal.
