BMW i8 will get a petrol instead of diesel engine



According to a report by Autocar, BMW's upcoming i8 supercar will not come as a diesel-electric hybrid, as has been the case with the Vision EifficientDynamics concept and prototype upon which the i8 is based.
The recently announced 'i' sub-brand from BMW will launch the i8 supercar in 2013 but it will come with a petrol engine instead.

AC Schnitzer premieres the ACS5 Sport S and ACS 99d

German tuner AC Schnitzer has previewed two new models ahead of their Geneva debut.
The ACS5 Sport S and ACS 99d are based on the BMW 5-Series and Z4 models, respectively. The aim of the Aachen-based tuner with these two models is to create power and performance while still keeping an eye on fuel-economy and emissions.

BMW's new M performance exhaust



BMW has announced a new M Performance exhaust system which will be available as an after-market accessory for the M3 range.
The new sport exhaust system is made of a new heat-resistant material called Inconel, a chrome-nickel alloy. The new system reduces back-pressure inside the exhaust resulting in a new sound which can be heard in many rpm incarnations in the video.

BMW i sub-brand announced with i3 / i8

Set to be launch in 2013, the i lineup will originally consist of the i3 (Mega City) and i8 (Vision EfficientDynamics). Details are limited, but both models will be built at the Leipzig plant and ride on the "LifeDrive architecture" which has an aluminum chassis and a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) passenger cell.

BMW to offer new 2.0 liter four-cylinder exclusively with turbo



BMW will be offering its range of 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrols exclusively in turbocharged configurations, according to a report by Autocar.
The automaker will have varying output levels for its new 2.0 liter petrol turbo that will top-out in a 245 PS (180 kW / 241 bhp) rated variant, as introduced recently in the X1 xDrive28i (torque: 350 Nm / 258 lb-ft).

BMW to launch new sub-brand on Monday

After years of speculation, BMW has officially announced plans to introduce their new sub-brand on Monday, February 21st.
While the company is staying coy on details, the new 'i-Setta' brand will be launched with the highly-anticipated 2013 Megacity. It will measure approximately four meters long and have a lightweight carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) body that weighs 250 to 350 kilograms (551 to 772 pounds) less than a conventional steel body.

BMW M5 spied in a new color



Here's a set of spy shots of the upcoming (F10) BMW M5 dressed in blue out for some testing in the latter stages of its development.
The sedan prototype spotted here is still wearing some camo but the rear boot of the car is exposed where we can see a small spoiler has been fitted.
