The Geneva Motor Show is fast approaching and BMW wants to show off their latest technology. To be featured in the ConnectedDrive concept demonstrator vehicle, the technology will focus on convenience, infotainment and safety.
Examples of such innovations include: emergency stop assistant, remote controlled parking, side collision avoidance, pedestrian protection, active steering + active cruise control during traffic jams, access to entertainment apps (games, video) when stopped in addition to various mobile phone apps particularly in regard to micro-navigation.
One particular innovation being developed is called Follow-Me. Using cloud computing infrastructure it provides seamless access from the home PC and other media devices to the car. Music, videos, audio books located in your home all become available in the vehicle on demand.
Taking this idea one step further, BMW engineers have conceived the Mood-Based Playlist. "It provides drivers with intuitive access to music that precisely matches their tastes and preferences at any given moment."
