2014 BMW M3 spied exiting parking garage [video]

A prototype of the 2014 BMW M3 (F80) was spied while exiting a parking garage.
Back in August we heard the new M3's engine courtesy of a teaser video released by BMW and now the engine's soundtrack has made a comeback via a spy clip showing a prototype while exiting a parking lot. The sound you are hearing comes from an all-new inline-six TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter "S55" engine rated at about 430 HP (316 kW) at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of more than 500 Nm (369 lb-ft).
If we were to make an assumption, this spotted prototype has a manual gearbox so there are hopes it won't be offered with just an M DCT dual-clutch transmission. Regardless of gearbox offerings, the new M3 will have 25 percent lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to the outgoing generation.
Full details will be disclosed in January 2014 when the M3 (F80) will be showcased at NAIAS in Detroit. As a reminder, the new M3 will be offered exclusively as a sedan, while the role of the coupe will be attributed to the first-ever M4.
