BMW M revealed on Facebook yesterday the M4 Coupe safety car for the 2014 MotoGP season.
For last year's MotoGP championship BMW used an M6 Gran Coupe but now they have switched to the all-new M4 Coupe to increase awareness of the first-ever M4. As you would imagine, the safety car wears a traditional M livery and the typical lettering as well as a light bar. With the M4 safety car BMW is also showcasing some of its performance parts such as the front skirt attachments, rear spoiler and diffuser which all have been made form carbon fiber.
Under the hood is an inline-six 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine outputting 431 HP (317 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque which enables the car to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 4.3 seconds with the six-speed manual or in 4.1 seconds when equipped with the optional seven-speed M DCT. Top speed is electronically-limited to 155 mph (250 km/h) but BMW is offering an optional M Driver's Package which raises the limiter to 174 mph (280 km/h).
