A handful of 2016 BMW 3-Series prototypes have been spied ahead of the car's official unveiling next month.
Looking instantly recognizable, the facelifted 3-Series will receive a minor refreshing that includes modified bumpers and restyled lighting units. Our spies also managed to snap pictures of the M Sport and long-wheelbase variants which also feature the usual styling tweaks.
Under the hood, we can expect an assortment of new and improved engines. Nothing is official but options are slated to include a new 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder with 326 PS (240 kW) as well as a new plug-in hybrid variant that features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The latter model should have a combined maximum output of 245 PS (180 kW) and an electric-only range of roughly 35 km (22 miles). PHOTOS
