The F12 M6 is expected to share a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 with the upcoming M5
Here are the latest spy shots of the upcoming 2012 BMW M6 Coupe.
We can see that the 6-Series prototype spotted here, although still heavily camouflaged, is fitted with all the M trappings, from the lowered suspension to the aerodynamic kit and large wheels.
The (F12) M6 isn't withholding any surprises with its power plant, though. It will share a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 with the upcoming F10 M5 as well as the 7-speed DCT Drivelogic double clutch gearbox.
The next-generation M5 will have that unit tuned to an output of around 565 PS (416 kW / 557 bhp) - a little less than the 600 PS (592 bhp / 441 kW) that was first anticipated.
We expect the M6 to have the same power rating but maybe BMW will want to surprise us.
The M6 is expected to debut later this year.
