More models than you can shake a stick at the Frankfurt Motor Show is shaping up to be one of the biggest events of the year as Auto Motor und Sport is reporting BMW will use their home turf to introduce four new models.
Besides the highly-publicized M5, the German automaker will reportedly unveil the 2012 M3 GTS sedan. Our spy photographers have recently caught the car undergoing testing near the Nürburgring and it will feature modified bumpers, a retuned suspension and an upgraded engine with 420 PS (309 kW / 414 bhp) to 450 PS (331 kW / 444 bhp).
If you're looking for something more affordable, you might want to check out the redesigned 1-Series. Official details are few and far between, but the model will have a bolder design, a nicer interior and a longer wheelbase.
Last but not least, BMW could also introduce the 2013 i3 in Frankfurt. As the spearhead for the company's i sub-brand, the i3 is slated to feature a 150 PS (110 kW / 148 bhp) electric motor that enables the car to hit a top speed of 160 km/h (100 mph) and travel approximately 257 km (160 miles) on a single charge.
