BMW-Toyota sports car could be a Supra successor
BMW and Toyota recently announced plans to jointly-develop a sports car and new details are starting to emerge about the mysterious model.
According to a BMW spokesperson, the car won't be based on the Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ or Scion FR-S. She added, it "will be a sustainable sports car with environmentally friendly technology" and "we are developing the architecture and components for this future car."
That's pretty vague, but a BMW manager commented "Anything is possible. The key factor is that the products of both companies retain their own individual character, despite jointly developed technologies."
It still remains unclear what the model will be, but speculation has suggested it could be a Toyota Supra successor or a production version of the Lexus LF-LC concept. The model could borrow some technology from the BMW i8, but nothing is official as of yet.
