BMW X1 replacement coming in 2015
BMW's X1 crossover has proved wildly successful and new details are starting to emerge about the next-generation model that is due in 2015.
Autocar is reporting the crossover will ride on the front-drive UKL platform which will also underpin several MINIs and the 2013 BMW 1-Series GT. Insiders say the switch will reduce production costs and free up more interior space thanks a transversely-mounted four-cylinder engine lineup.
Unsurprisingly, the model will share a lot of components with the next-generation MINI Countryman so expect a Haldex all-wheel drive system to be optional.
