All-wheel drive will be available
A recent report indicates Alpina will bring to IAA the diesel D3 Bi-Turbo, following the gasoline B3 shown back in March at Geneva Motor Show.
Power will be provided by a six-cylinder, 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine which will output approximately 350 HP (257 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. It should enable the high-performance diesel 3-Series from Alpina to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in less than five seconds.
Chances are the tuner will also offer the D3 with a four-cylinder engine sourced and modified from the six-cylinder 325d model for those who prefer a lower fuel consumption and are satisfied with less power. Both versions of the D3 will be available with a rear-wheel drive setup, but an optional all-wheel drive arrangement will be offered. PHOTOS
