A lightly disguised BMW 4-Series Convertible has been spied with the top down, ahead of next week's reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.
The 3-Series Convertible will be retired to make room for the larger and slightly lighter4-Series Convertible which will feature different headlights, a sportier front fascia and ventilated front fenders. Overall, the design echoes the recently introduced 4-Series Coupe with the main obvious difference being the retractable metal roof.
BMW will take the engine lineup from the 3-Series Convertible so expect to see a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo mill with 245 HP (180 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft), as well as a more powerful 3.0-liter, inline-six TwinPower Turbo delivering 306 HP (225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque.
Following the car's debut next week at IAA, production of the 428i and 435i models willallegedly kick off in Regensburg in November.
