More details are now available about the2014 Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo which will be showcased starting next week at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Alpina will use the same 3.0-liter straight-six twin-turbo engine as the one which powers the XD3 and D5 models. This Euro 6-compliant mill puts out 345 bhp (257 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque which enables the D3 Bi-Turbo to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds en route to a top speed of 173 mph (278 km/h).

Set to be offered as a Touring version as well, the latest Alpina product will be capable of returning 44.3 mpg US (53.3 mpg UK or 5.3 liters / 100 km) with CO2 emissions of 139 g/km. Rear-wheel drive will be standard, but Alpina will optionally offer an all-wheel drivesetup for left-hand models. Also on the list of optional equipment will be a limited-slip differential.
