2012 BMW 3-Series teased in new promotional video : Death Valley Heat Test

BMW has released a new promotional video which gives us our first official glimpse at the redesigned 3-Series.
While there isn't much to see, the clip shows us the car's exterior as well as the X3-inspired cabin. Since the vehicle isn't on screen for very long, feel free to browse our collection of high-resolution spy photos.
As we have previously reported, the new 3-Series will be slightly larger than today's model and adopts styling that mimics the 5-Series. Engine options remain a bit of a mystery, but petrol choices are slated to include a turbocharged 1.6-liter with 150 PS (110 kW / 148 hp), a turbocharged 2.0-liter with 245 PS (180 kW / 241 hp) as well as a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that churns out 306 PS (225 kW / 300 hp). Furthermore, a hybrid powertrain will be offered with the latter engine paired to a 54 PS (40 kW / 54 hp) electric motor.
The 2012 BMW 3-Series is scheduled to be unveiled later this year, so look for a possible unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
