This is the first official clip of the new BMW M5. Dr. Kay Segler, president of BMW M GmbH explains more about the car.
This time we actually get a decent view of the car as it does a slalom in the wintery landscape of Sweden. The next M5 is still wearing camouflage and the production makes sure we don't get too close a still shot of the car but we can certainly enjoy the action.
Dr. Kay Segler, president of BMW M GmbH, posits the M5 as a business vehicle that can be turned into a sports car at the touch of a button. We wonder exactly what he is referring to - but it is likely the Sport setting for the drive function system.
From what we have previously spied on the next-generation M5, we have a pretty good idea of what front fascia will look like with its ventilated fenders.
Under the hood, we're still expecting a twin-turbo 4.4 liter V8 with around 600 PS (441 kW / 592 bhp).
On the inside will be a new instrument cluster and an Alcanatara headliner.
BMW is expected to show an M5 concept at the Shanghai Auto Show next month with the official M5 debuting at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
