BMW recently announced the M3 DTM will be replaced by a new M4 DTM and a tipster has just informed us that another race car is in the works.
Tentatively dubbed the "M4 Race Car," the model will reportedly debut in late December and be homologated to compete in the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship as well as European FIA events.
The car is slated to use an upgraded version of the M4's TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. It will reportedly have a standalone engine management system (EMS) that can be easily tuned to enable the model to produce more than 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque.
The source went on to say the model will be a "cost effective race car" that will appeal to customer racing teams who want something affordable and user friendly. It will reportedly cost about €65,000 ($88,290 / £54,950).
