The second generation of the BMW X6 has been grabbed on camera for the first time by our spy photographers.
These images were taken at BMW's Nürburgring test base where several prototypes of the X6 were covered in camo hiding what we assume will be a design influenced by the recently unveiled 2014 X5but with a more coupe-like silhouette as seen on the current model. The headlights will be connected to the front grille and the daytime running lights will be positioned underneath them just like on the X5.
The main difference between the two will be in the design of the greenhouse which will be more sloped both at the front and rear. By checking the X5's engine lineup we get a relevant idea about what to expect from the new X6 in terms of power units, while the interior cabin should be mostly carried over as well from the X5.
It will allegedly be offered with a "FlexRay" system which will enable easy electronic upgrades such as those for the chassis or for the infotainment system. Lower-spec models are said to ride on steel springs while more premium versions will get a self-leveling air suspension.
The all-new BMW X6 will probably be unveiled sometime next year and should go on sale in 2015. PHOTOS
