BMW designer says Apple made white cars popular

A recent study confirms that black’s reign as the most popular color for new cars in the United States has been overthrown by white.
In 2011, about 20 percent of new cars purchased in the U.S. were ordered in white, a color that has long been billed as complicated to keep clean. Some industry insiders believe that the color’s recent comeback is the direct result of Apple promoting white iPods, iPads and iMac computers.

Yesterday in a post on Facebook, BMW's M division shared some juicy photos of a one-off BMW Z3 prototype fitted with a massive V12 engine under the hood. This is just one of the many special cars that the M division has made in the past, such as the M8, E34 M5 Convertible, V16 7-Series Goldfish or the M3 Pickup.

Semi-auto manufacturer, Alpina, is readying their B3 BiTurbo for debut early next year, but impatient digital artists have quite predictably rendered what the model will most likely look like.
