Nissan poaches BMW's Roland Krueger to head Infiniti
Nissan has finally found a new leader for its Infiniti unit, hiring former BMW executive Roland Krueger to fill the post.
Krueger is said to have gained a foothold in the industry as a designer in the early '90s, eventually working as senior designer of SMART interiors before moving to rival BMW in 1998.
At the blue roundel, he joined as manager of strategic product planning before moving through various executive positions. He later served in various regional roles, including CEO of BMW Japan, before taking his most recent job as SVP of the German sales region.
Nobody has been behind the wheel at Infiniti since Johan de Nysschen left for Cadillac and then his interim replacement, Andy Palmer, took the reins at Aston Martin.
"Roland Krueger has a consistent record of high performance in the premium automotive sector," said Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn. ""He brings unique leadership skills that will accelerate Infiniti's progress in the global premium market."
