Minor updates for a legendary model
The 2014 BMW M5 has hit the web a little early thanks to an employee who accidently uploaded the car's configurator ahead of schedule.
Looking instantly recognizable, the updated model has a new grille with larger vertical slats that echo those on the M6. There doesn't appear to be any other major changes but the headlights could recieve some minor tweaks.
Interior changes are also limited but we can see a slimmer steering wheel and a new touch-sensitive iDrive controller.
The car's twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine is expected to carryover and continue to produce 560 HP (412 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. However, previous reports have indicated there will be an optional Competition Package that will boost the output to approximately 575 HP (423 kW). The package is also expected to include a sportier suspension, a revised M Dynamic Mode and exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels.
The 2014 BMW M5 is slated to go on sale later this year and German pricing will reportedly start at €103,300.
