BMW North America has announced the optional Competition Package available for the 2014 M5 is an extra $7,300.
The Competition Package lifts output of the 4.4-liter V8 from 560 HP (412 kW) to 575 HP (423 kW). Additionally, the M5 receives further tuned stabilizer bars, dampers and suspension, along with a 10mm decreased ride height. Other goodies include bespoke 20-inch M alloys available in 601M and 343M styles which are both wrapped around in performance tires.
Also part of the package is the sport exhaust system with black chrome tailpipes, as well as a tweaked M Dynamic mode part of the DSC – Dynamic Stability Controlsystem. At an additional cost, clients can opt for adaptive LED headlights and a touch controller which has a touch-sensitive surface.
Without the Competition Package, the 2014 BMW M5 has a starting price of 90,900 USD.
